The Compagnie Vendéenne

The Compagnie Vendéenne is a private seasonal company. We have been operating routes to Ile d’Yeu for more than 14 years from two departure ports: Fromentine and Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie.

The Compagnie Vendéenne provides crossings to Ile d’Yeu on board its 3 modern and rapid boats (20 knots), which are all equipped with “outdoor decks “and “panoramic lounges”.

Key dates:

1999: Creation of the « Compagnie Vendéenne » operating departures from Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie to Ile d’Yeu.
2001: Creation of the route from Fromentine to Ile d’Yeu.
2003: In July 2003, the vessel OGIA, is put into service. This fast boat, with a capacity of 309 passengers, is used primarily on the Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie - Ile d’Yeu route.
2008: The vessel, Port Fidèle, (which became the Saint-Sauveur in 2010) enters into service. This boat is unique for its shallow draught design (0.90m) which facilitates its access to the Fromentine strait.
